Agricultura urbana e os circuitos espaciais de produção: as hortas na cidade de Anápolis(GO) (2010-2021)

Abstract

This dissertation investigates the importance of urban agriculture in society from 2010 to 2021, through food production, including the cultivation of vegetable gardens (vegetables and others) in urban spaces and sought to understand its spatial production circuits in the city of Anápolis (GO). Given this scenario, the following research problem was defined: What are the dynamics of the spatial circuits of vegetable garden production in the city of Anápolis (GO)? The research investigated in a broad and dynamic way the relevance of urban agriculture and its contribution to society and directed to the local interest. Thus, the objective was to understand the dynamics of the spatial circuits of vegetable garden production in the city of Anápolis (GO) between 2010 and 2021. The methodological procedures carried out within the framework of the approach were based on: bibliographical research, secondary data collection, in field research with the application of questionnaires. Thus, the existence of actions to support and encourage these production spaces was verified The research is organized in three basic parts: the first involves the discussion on the production of family farming in the Brazilian urban space, from the moment that family producers reached a considerable relevance in the agricultural productive context of Brazil, mainly due to the position that this agricultural modality occupies in the food production segment and the existing relevance of family farming in the local urban space, from the spatialization of family production interconnecting the network circuits. The second highlights the concept of urban agriculture and the events of vegetable garden production in certain urban areas of the city and the context of the formation of

urban agriculture and its possible transformations in contemporary times. The third analyzes the spatial circuits of production/commercialization of urban gardens in the East Region of the city, focusing on the participation of urban family farmers. It is concluded that urban agriculture can be seen, therefore, as part of the transformation of urban space.
