Costurando imagens urbanas em movimento : o avesso do bairro Jundiaí, em Anápolis(GO)

Abstract

This research embraces the theme of the city image and its representation, inserted in the context of the production and reproduction of urban space, in the concrete and tangible aspects, but especially through the perspective of creating the collective imagination, capable of distinguish places by their symbolic value and, sometimes taking on a new meaning to real estate values - demonstrated specifically in the change of property and land prices due to the urban valorization of an area. The research locus is Jundiaí neighborhood, in the city of Anápolis, Goiás, which urban image moves between: the expectation of a medium-sized city - which consolidates itself as a municipality (1907) in a strategic point in the state of Goiás, supporting the construction of two capitals, Goiânia (1933) and Brasília (1960) - oriented to industrial and logistical development; and, the dynamic found in the daily life of the city, of ordinary and common life, pervade with forms and contents that reflect a countryside dwelling, most of the time traditional. In this regard, Jundiaí neighborhood constitutes an interesting study case, as the first planned neighborhood in Anápolis, technically, starting from an urban project dated 1943, with English ideals of the garden city, but that was not achieved in space. Despite the apparent failure of the plan, the neighborhood is still supported by these ideals of beauty, hygiene, contact with nature and quality of life, which emerged again with the implementation of Ipiranga Environmental Park (2010), above the reurbanization of an underused area, currently considered the city's postcard. The strength of this dominant picture in the collective imagination was sought to investigate here, finding its correspondences and dissonances in the living space, through a methodological path supported by interdisciplinary readings and by the sensitive experience of urban space through the practice of walking, listening to oral reports and interviews with characters who live and imagine this place. Lastly, it was proposed new cartographies for Jundiaí neighborhood, giving voice to other interpretations and readings, weaving dialogues, episodes, stories and photographics essays from different points of this neighborhood, hich, contrary to initial expectations, shows a heterogeneous space.
