Composição dos atributos funcionais de assembleias de aves em fragmentos de mata sob influência urbana e agropecuária

Abstract

The biodiversity crisis is characterized by the rapid loss of species and entire ecosystems, aggravated by the intensification of deforestation and fragmentation of natural habitats from human activities. Disturbances in the matrix adjacent to the patches can alter the structure of them and consequently the communities composition. The study of the functional attributes of the species considers functional differences that the simple list of species does not show. The study of the functional attributes allow us to understand the resources use and clarifies processes of diversity patterns of multiple scales. By linking environmental characteristics with functional attributes of the species we can study factors structuring assemblies at local scale and predict changes in these assemblies when envorironmental conditions change. This study aimed to evaluated the funcional atributes of birds assemblies between forest patches surrounding by agriculture and urban matrix. During field work we surveyed birds species composition and frequency of occurence as well microclimate and vegetation characteristics. After that, we compiled functional attibutes of them. The field work was conducted during March until October in ten forest patches surrounding by agriculture matrix (five patches) and urban matrix (five pacthes). Were recorded 106 species of birds in a total of 1586 contacts. The patches differ according to microclimate aspect both grouped according to surrounding matrix both one each other. On the other hand, there is no difference among patches according to vegetation characteristics. We identified the importance of some environmental characteristics and associations of them with funcional attributes. Also, we did not foun clear differences between birds assemblies according in patches according to matrix, suggesting biotic homogenization.
