Sob a luz do luar : natureza e religiosidade na Festa do Morro dos Pireneus/Pirenópolis-Go (1927-2019)

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Hill Festival in Praise of the Holy Trinity, which takes place every year during the period of the full moon of July. The event takes place in the Pireneus Hill region, in the environmental preservation area that belongs to the Pirineus State Park created in 1987 and it is located approximately 20 km away from the city of Pirenópolis (GO). The Hill Festival, which began in 1927, under the command of Christóvam José de Oliveira, consists of a manifestation of faith and appreciation of the nature established by the landscape of the Cerrado that, together with the vegetation and the hills, has the sunset and full moon as attractive elements during the festivity. The The festive event has become a tradition followed not only by the founder's, but it is followed by family and families from Pirenópolis and its region as well as by visitors from other cities. The festival analyzed here is interpreted by the relationships established in it, and by the symbolic relevance of the rituals that define the festive landscape and gives identity to its participants with the experience of the events that take place in space and are eternalized in memory. The research aims to analyze the Pireneus Hill Festival by focusing on the ecological, sacred, and aesthetic aspects that are manifested. It is seeking to understand the ritualistic sequence under the context of the sacred and the profane and the symbolic representation of the festive events for its regulars throughout from nine decades of tradition, which complements the culture and history of the people from Pirenópolis.
