O Processo de modernização de Anápolis e as atividades do Grupo Pina(1930-1960)

Abstract

The present work seeks to analyze the materialization of the modernization process in the Anápolis region. The analytical focus was shifted from the national context and from the eminently external character, to the local and internal aspects of the events. Thus, based on the study of the economic activities of a large family group that settles in the city – the Pina Group – at the beginning of the TWENTIETH century, and obtains a considerable regional financial success, which ends up also moving to political activities of its Members. Soon it constituted a web of economic and political relations between the city of Anápolis and dozens of other cities Goianas, largely under the protection of the business of the group Pina, which was transforming both physical spaces where it materialized at the same time In which he joined under the influence of Anápolis a large part of Goiás. Thus, the socio-economic reality of the city is transformed, together with a considerable part of the State of Goiás itself.
