Perfis dos estudos de comportamento animal e a implicação para a conservação das espécies

Abstract

The advances in the understanding of the field of animal behavior are evident, but they have not yet been related to the conservation of animal populations, which is an excellent research topic applied to studies of animal behavior. Scientometrics consists of studying science, technology and innovation from a quantitative perspective. Through this type of study it is possible to assess the importance of certain subjects, authors and / or works, in addition to highlighting the trends and contributions of a particular discipline, researcher or group of researchers. In view of this scenario, the main objective of the present work was to investigate, from a scientometric view, studies of animal behavior linked directly with the thematic conservation of species. For the scientometric survey, a set of standardized data was elaborated through research published in the following databases: Web of Science and Scopus between the years 2008 and 2018. The following terms were used to search for scientific articles: “Animal Behavior AND Conservation” Or “Animal Behavior AND Conservation”. The search in the Web of Science database resulted in 1,593 documents, with 2017 being the year of greatest production. The search for articles in the Scopus database resulted in 1,035 documents, being the year of greatest production in 2015. In view of the results, it is noted that there is incongruity in the stored data, however, even in the face of contradictions it is clear that the research on the theme Behavior animal linked to Conservation, has grown substantially in recent years.
